Light a Candle at Holy Trinity

“It is impossible to imagine an Orthodox church in which candles are not lit.”
(Blessed Simeon of Thessalonica, 15th Century)

My Beloved Parishioners,

As Orthodox Christians we were raised by Mother Church to be embracing, to greet one another with a holy kiss, to venerate icons and our priest’s right hand. We were raised to be anointed with holy oil, receive a palm, a flower, an egg, to take in the aroma of the sweet smelling incense and as an act of quiet piety to light our candles for the well-being of the living as well as a silent gesture for our departed loved ones.

With the threat of the Coronavirus lurking about we must find new ways to embrace and incorporate our holy traditions.

Of course our skilled AV Team has brought the Divine services into our homes which has been marvelous in our eyes and now I am happy to report our industrious Parish Council has created a system whereby we can light our candles. See below:

If you wish to light a candle, please fill out the form in Step 1.  Once you have done so, proceed to Step 2 make your donation via our online giving portal, Abundant Giving. Beeswax candles are a donation of $3, the Large Red Votives (7 Day) candles are a donation of $7, and small votives to be lit for Holy Thursday evening are a donation of $5.

The Parish Council serving at the service will light the candles for you.  Submit your candle(s) request prior to 5PM the night before a service. For example, all requests received by 5PM on Saturday before the Sunday Divine Liturgy will be fulfilled on Sunday. If there is a mid-week Service, submit your request by 5PM the night before the service to have your candle lit at the Service.
